Christmas Morning we woke up in Hobart and after our chill day Christmas Eve, we were ready to explore. We decided to take the 20 minute, steep and crocked, road up to the top of Mount Wellington.
As we sat atop of what felt like the top of the world we could listen as the wind howled across the bare rock. The stories of long ago are told by the wear of the face of the rocks, and the below city that has grown over time. The view from the top was amazing! It was over 1,200 m above sea level, to say we were a little cold was an understatement. Notice all of our clothes? Remember we are in Australia, Christmas time is SUMMER time!
One family got to the top early Christmas morning and had staked out this great cover from the wind. What an amazing place to spend Christmas morning! Talk about really spending time with each other and not about presents. They didn't even have to worry about anyone pulling out their phone because there was no service at the top.
We stayed long enough to take of the view, quickly enjoy the scenery, and take a picture of the amazing view from the toilet at the top (see below).
Can you think of another bathroom with that kind of view?
