Everyone we told we were flying into Hamilton Island, told us how beautiful it was. I had my camera ready and was not disappointed! As soon as we took off we got a tour of the CBD Brisbane, and a fly over of our home.
Next we went in the clouds for around 40 minutes.
As we immerged from the clouds the beauty did not disappoint! This runway is the shortest runway in Australia and the only runway in Australia that in no circumstances the pilot can use autopilot to land.
As we landed I took a video, check it out!
So now I have hooked you with its beauty. Let me tell you a little bit about the Whitsundays. The Whitsundays are a group of 74 islands James Cook (because he wasn't a Captain at the time) named in his journal as the WhitSunday passage. Actually though, he should have called them the WhitMondays because the international date line had not been established yet, so technically it was Monday when he sailed through them.
Among the 74 islands is The Great Barrier Reef. Because you get the best of island life, and Great Barrier adventure it is a great place to see all the "pictures you see of Australia." I have yet to see Queensland advertisement that do not include WhitSundays, and most Australia advertisements for tourism have pictures of the Whitsunday islands. I will go into more about some of the islands, as I go through the pictures.
What is the most beautiful place you have ever landed?
