In Australia they would not say, "April showers brings May's flowers." We are currently in Spring. Yes, our seasons are exactly opposite of America. It really is hard to wrap my mind around, October isn't a time for boots, sweaters, pumpkin, and blankets. November isn't for warm blankets, fall colors, and running in long sleeves. December isn't a time where you secretly hope you have a white Christmas. Here December is a time for "July" heat. November is a time for flowers to bloom, and October is a time for spring.
All the time, I catch myself looking on Facebook, Instagram, or other blogs thinking, "oh, that is cute. I should get that since winter is coming up." HA! No, winter is in June here. I also catch myself when people say something is in December, I automatically think, "Oh! that is a long way from now. It is still summer."
So, while I am still trying to wrap my mind around seasons are opposite throughout the year, and the fact that Queensland has two seasons, comfortable and hot. I have decided to just enjoy flowers and nature.
I am trying to make myself stop and take a picture or just stop and soak in natural beauty around me, when I find myself getting hot, or getting confused with the seasons. We are so blessed to live in such a beautiful country.
These are some of the pictures I have taken. I love to add words to them later. I love nature, all the details that are paid attention to in nature are amazing. All I can think about is, "Isn't God creative?" Can you imagine creating everything? I think it would have been so fun to be a fly on the wall when God was trying to pick all the colors and designs for the world.
What is one of your favorite sayings? You never know, it might end up on a picture. So for now, I am really enjoying taking pictures of nature, making the most out of my time here, and learning all about a climate with only two seasons.
