This was Dad's itinerary, remember we do live in Brisbane, and I have posted an itinerary for staying around Brisbane, but this was Dad's second trip, and he wanted to venture out. His first trip we did Christmas at Byron Bay, Sydney (opera house, sailing lessons, Baseball game in Brisbane, Straddie. Here is what Dad had to say about that trip (Here) This trip we decided to explore Tasmania.
Walked around Brisbane - Typing this post I realize I do not have a post just about around Brisbane. I will fix that.
Flew to Hobart and explored Hobart
Drove to top of Mt. Wellington. Then drove to Eaglehawk Neck region to see Tasmin Arch, Tessellated Pavements, The Blowhole, and Devil's Kitchen. Ended the night in Bicheno
Drove to Frecyient National Park. (I forgot the pass to get in the park. It worked out for the better though, it started pouring rain) We then decided to drive to St. Helens for the best Seafood chowder. Then we drove to Binalong Bay and experience the Bay of Fires. On the way back to Bincheno to watch the March of the Penguins, stopped off at St. Columbia Falls.
Drove to Launceston. Walked around the town a bit and experienced Cataract Gorge. We then decided go to Bridestowe Lavender farm.
Drove to Strahan, but on the way we went though Davenport, Burnie, and Cradle Mountain. The drive from Launceston to Davenport was a tasting road. It was really fun we stopped at the cheese place and chocolate place. There was a raspberry and cherry option also.
Woke up early and took a cruse around Macquarie Harbor. We went to Hell's gate, stopped at Sarah Island, and walked through the rainforest on the Gordon river. When we got back to Strahan we went on a short walk to Hogarth falls.
Woke up early yet again, headed the long road to Hobart. We stopped at some falls, and many look out points on the drive from Strahan to Hobart. When we finally got to Hobart we got to have lunch at Taste of Tassie and see four boats finish The Sydney to Hobart race, while walking around looking at all the boats that had already finished. Next we headed to Port Arthur for a tour of the prison and a ghost tour that night.
Flew back to Brisbane and went to DFO so Dad could experience outlet shopping Aussie style. Then we sat on our porch all night and watched the party down at Portside, listened to music, and enjoyed to fireworks.
Dad hadn't got much beach time while he was here, so we headed to the Sunshine Coast, Noosa, was TOO FULL! We couldn't find a parking place. So we found this cute little beach two beaches up and were practically on a private beach. It was fantastic.
Since I was going home with Dad. I had to pack a bit, clean the house, and get ready to be gone two weeks. We ran some errands and got ready to go until evening. At evening we went to a 20/20 match.
I would say he had a great pretty full two weeks.
