While I was home, I saw Nicole Wallace interviewed on a morning show.  She really intrigued me, so I started looking into her books.  I was not disappointed.  Nicolle worked in the White House under George W. Bush so had some insights behind the scenes.  I love mystery, suspenseful, high energy books, but can not read murder books anymore, I am home alone way too much.  This trilogy was perfect.  I caught myself wanting to ride the bus to work, just so I could read my book.

The books are about the first female President.  All the high ranking positions in her government is women.  It has topics that have been thrown at male counterparts, but I found it really interesting how I looked at the situations different when a female was making the decisions.  A great read with a great mix of genres.

This was a good read, because they give you details on both extremes.  I thought it was neat to read about the same events from a husband and wife perspective.  Chris' is a lot like the movie, with the normal twists to make the movie better.  The start of Taya's book was amazing, and the middle is how she dealt with the week Chris died.  The rest reads more like her notes from her counselor and how she has continued living.  I enjoyed reading them, but it was a completely different style of writing.

This book is The Notebook, meets The Help, meets forbidden love mixed with some twists.  I could not put this book down, the author draws you in quickly and the main characters become your best friends really quick.  She does a great job really making you feel a part of their life.  I absolutely could not put this book down.  I read it in two days.  A great read for anyone!

This would be a great beach read.  A wonderful just feel good story.  This book is all about "how we survive the hurts in our life that brings us strength and gives us our beauty."  The author tells a great story of a young girl that had many struggles in her life, but came out stronger. Also, how reading books took her out of bad situations, which I loved.  She learned many lessons throughout the way, that many of us should learn.

Now, this book has great reviews, is going to be a movie, and is at the top of Amazon sales for this year.  This book even made it on the Oprah book list. It was a good lesson book about how choices really can matter to others.  I think the lesson is a great lesson, BUT I really couldn't not get into this book.  I actually stopped reading it about half way though, and then read the last two chapters.  I am not sure if the fact that the library only had large print available or the actual plot was what did not excite me.  There was too much death for me, I like a light-hearted read, this was not it.  A good book to remind everyone, don't take everyone's word, read it for yourself.  Also, it is ok to abandon.

This was a light hearted good read.  Think Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory.  When I read this book, I heard Sheldon every time the main character Don, was speaking.  Don had to learn that science can not predict true love.  He also had to learn it is ok to not to stick to the schedule, a lesson which is always good for me to be reminded of.

What are some good ones you can recommend?
