Well Christmas in Florida felt a lot like Christmas in AU. It is officially winter here, but the last two days have been mid 80's. We woke up early Christmas eve, drove to Cocoa and went to see 800 Surfing Santas. There was a "church service", Christmas carols, and a lot of picture taking. It is a free event but raises money for cancer patients and for the surf museum. After we watched everyone, I got my board out and wanted to try it out. I stood on the edge of the ocean to gather my gumption, and totally chickened out. We ended up driving to an inlet to practice on smooth water. After we finished playing in the water we met our landlords, ate some shrimp, and then headed to church. After a hot Christmas eve, we decided to try something a little different. We woke up early to drive watch the sunrise on the beach, and then headed to Orlando, Gaylord ICE show. We had fun in the 9 degree temperature, I was so smart and packed clothes for us to put over our shorts, but I seemed to forget socks or shoes.....HAHAHAH oops, our feet FROZE! After we looked at all the ice sculptures we spent some time tubing, racing, and laughing. Since we were so close we headed to Disney Springs to try a sandwich like I always had growing up. Turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, and mayo sandwich. It was so much fun. After all that fun we headed to the airport to pick up Josh's mom. Not our typical American Christmas Tradations, but we had fun. It was nice to be closed and actually just get to hang out. -EAT
