Mark 4:39-41 New International Version (NIV)
39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”
41 They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”
I like music when I am thinking, enjoy the song videos while you read.
What would it take to start a wave?
"The winds cause waves on the surface of the ocean (and on lakes). The wind transfers some of its energy to the water, through friction between the air molecules and the water molecules. Stronger winds (like storm surges) cause larger waves. You can make your own miniature waves by blowing across the surface of a pan of water.Waves of water do not move horizontally, they only move up and down (a wave does not represent a flow of water). You can see a demonstration of this by watching a floating buoy bob up and down with a wave; it does not, however, move horizontally with the wave." Source
It is not easy to start or stop a wave, can you imagine how powerful God is? After the cyclone hitting Queensland this week, and seeing pictures of 30 foot waves at beaches around us, it just really made me stop and think about how powerful our God really is.
It is amazing how strong wind and waves actually are!
What is a way you have seen God's power lately?
