The day after my Dad got here, we decided to put him on another plane and take a 2 hour and 20 minute direct flight down to the second city established in Australia, Hobart.

If we only visited Hobart on our Tasmania adventure, we would have been happy.  This is a great little city.

I really felt like we stepped back in time.  They have done an amazing job keeping all the architecture from the original time, while still mixing with modern.  I decided to make this post that way, mix old and new, black and white with color.

Hobart is the capital city for Tasmania, but from what I have seen a lot smaller than the other capitals.  They really do a great job making the town thrive though.  The town was hopping the day we landed because they were trying to get ready for Taste of Tasmania and The Sydney to Hobart Sailing race.  You also can not imagine how amazing and fresh the seafood tasted.  We ate seafood on the pier where the fisherman docked their boats.

Since Dad had done the long haul across the pond only the day before, we decided to not do the typical EAT schedule in a new city. Typically we land in a city and are go, go, go trying to see and experience it all. We decided to just stroll through the streets, and really have no agenda.  Like I said, totally not a typical day from me, but Hobart is a perfect city to just chill and let the day plan itself.

Luckily Hobart is only our first stop on our tour of Tassie.  We also ended our trip in this city, tried to hit up the more "toursty" attraction then.

What is a city you have hopped off the plane with no agenda, and just chilled?

I love Hobart! It's such a great city for strolling around. I especially love Salamanca, the harbour area and Battery Point. My Mum grew up in Hobart and all her family live there so we've visited often and I just love it! It's very walkable too! X
