First Holiday event we went to was Space Coast Basket Brigade. It was amazing! The organization from the front end was a little crazy, but once we picked up our baskets, put them in the vans, and went to the homes and delivered Thanksgiving dinner it was so much fun. It was a great event to do with our Glass Doctor family. There were around 1,700 baskets delivered up and down the Space Coast this day.
The second event we went to was Skydiving Santa. Every twenty minutes from 11:00-4:00 15 skydivers came out of the sky and tried to land on a huge sleigh or a big chair. Some missed and landed in the water. It was a lot of fun to see. One group would go in a Bell (my Dad works for Bell) and the other group would go in a plane.
We even got to see the fire truck/ rocket Santa that rides around beachside and passes out candy canes blaring Christmas music.
Next up was SNOW. Yes you read that correctly it snowed in Melbourne. Christmas eve eve we went to Intercoastal a local brewing company who had a snow machine!
This was about two minutes into the snow going. See all the empty ice bags? That wasn’t all the empty sacks. It took three men going as fast as they could to keep it going.
Our next stop was Christmas Eve morning at cocoa beach. Surfing Santas is a cocoa beach tradition that is a way for Santa to blow off some stress before delivering all the packages. This year they were hoping for 1,000 Santas surfing.
Christmas eve in Australia we had prawns and pavlova. I mentioned that to my friend Michelle who took it upon herself to make us a Pavlova! It was amazing!!! We are so blessed with such amazing friends.
Christmas morning Dad and I woke up early and went to the beach and watched the sunrise at the beach. Dad had the idea to cook steaks at the beach for lunch, we had done that in Australia and Dad enjoyed it. So in the late afternoon we attempted to go to the beach and grill. Oh what a fail that was. We attempted for about an hour until we gave up, went home cooked our steaks, and went to the movies to see The Greatest Show, which I highly recommend.
