As you can see in the previous post, I put up the Christmas tree, a little early. I know, I know, but after being in Australia, and no one there really celebrating Thanksgiving, we really came to enjoy the Christmas decorations starting at the start of November. I mean if you are going to spend that much, why not enjoy as long as possible. HA!
The other day we did finally take a small break from work and head over to Disney Springs. Now, if you are a old Disney fan this is the former Downtown Disney, but if you are like me and had never done ANYTHING Disney, it was all new. Some of my cousins (Joyce, Doug, Abby (their daughter), her family, Hunter (their son) and his family) from Arkansas text us and let us know they were coming for the week. We decided to drive the looooong, one hour drive, to Disney, eat at the T-Rex cafe, play with Legos, and honestly meet their kids. I am so embarrassed to say I had never met any of their kiddos.
Living so far away from everyone, we really enjoy any time we can spend with any family. We were excited when they let us know they would be close. Joyce is my Mom's first cousin. Our family always did a Christmas together at Memo's (Mom's and Joyce's Grandmother). Memo, Hunter, Rachel (another one of their cousins) and I, have birthday's a day apart so at a young age we would sometimes have share birthday cakes with each other. So we did see each other more than just the occasional family reunion, starting at a young age.
Then carrying on the Family tradition of Harding, Abby, Hunter, their spouses, and I all went to college together. Mom would cook for us very frequently, we would have pumpkin carving competitions, and hang out a bit. It was really nice to get to be around them. It really made me wish we were around family more often.
Hunter is also my cousin I found roaming around the hospital the night of my Mom's heart attack. He saw it on Facebook, and just hopped in the car and came. Their family also has taken my Mamma in after we moved so far away. She has gone to their house for many holiday's, and Joyce hosted everyone after my grandmother's funeral. To say their family is special to me, is an understatement.
Any family or friends that are family coming to Disney soon?
We enjoyed Disney Springs, but Josh and I both commented in the car, we did not feel deprived because we never went there as kids, but would like to go now.....but for now.....
We both will enjoy the free things around here.
Other than that, our weeks still consist of waking up early and working all day, then coming home and crashing on the couch, Only to wake up the next morning and do it again. I know very fun, entertaining, and interesting life. Hence, why I don't post as often. We will be going to Savannah for Thanksgiving though. Any recommendations?
I know a lot of people are wondering about Glass Doctor, Glass Doctor is going pretty good. The hurricane did get the phone ringing a bit, and we are trying to keep the customers coming. Any suggestions are appreciated. I am working on Facebook, Twitter and Google+ daily postings. If you haven't liked our page on Facebook yet, please do. Glass Doctor of Brevard County, or follow us on twitter. I try to post educational things, motivational sayings, and mix it up a bit so we are not just selling glass. Josh and I agreed to not pay himself until we break even....I am ready to break even and Josh start paying himself. We were SO close last month, and that was our first full month open. Going from a DINK (double income, no kids) family to a teacher's salary is for sure an awakening.
So many people ask why we started this journey. We moved to Australia for Josh to be home more. That didn't happen, no he wasn't gone all but 6 weeks of a school year, but he still wasn't home every night. The more he looked around at others higher up than him, he didn't see a place in that company that he would get to be home every night. We felt the Lord pushing us to jump, and trust that he will catch us.
Has it been hard? Have a questioned that we were listening to the correct voice? Yes, yes, and yes, but we both feel we did what is right for us at the time. Will Josh ever go back to corporate America? Maybe....but for the time being we are enjoying a slower, but much more busy life pace, and getting to do it all together. We just keep trusting, hoping, and praying, we are doing the right thing in the right place, and will continue to be guided by Him. Keep praying we break even soon. j/k
We have started a new thing, though......We answer the phone for Glass Doctor on Sunday's, but other than that. Sunday's are declared,.....
SUNDAY FUN DAY!
I honestly look forward to Sunday all week. It is a time where we go to church in the am, go somewhere by water and eat lunch, and just take time to relax, discuss life, and chill. We even occasionally find a local festival, which I LOVE.
I love our new tradition. I work hard all week to get all the extra chores done in the house, cleaning, grocery shopping. So no work has to happen on Sunday, Fun Day. I think it is a tradition we should all do. HA!
A friend of mine in Australia, asked me if I had heard this yet....Enjoy...It's one of my new favorite songs!
