Around 1.5 hour drive from Darwin and through the funny named town Humpty Doo, is a beautiful, croc infested, amazing national park. Our guide told us this patch is 1500 square km of land was owned by an American family who figured out it wasn't good for a cattle farm and donated it to the Australian government with the strings attached it had to be a park where people could enjoy the beauty for free.
We asked if we could swim in the waterfalls, but were told quickly "NO, there are CROCS!"
There are many things to do and see in Litchfield, I wish we would have had more than one day. There was an accident that happened at Florence falls while we were there, so we missed out on some things. The chopper, ambulance, and cops and tending to the person closed off the roads. I hope the person is ok, It just gives us more reason to return.
Would you have swam in the water?
