I know a lot of people have been wondering what our next plan is so.......
When Josh and I were talking about moving back to the States, we both knew I didn't want to leave my students in the middle of a term. I didn't want them to have me as a teacher on Friday, and then a new teacher on Monday. We wanted to transition to be as seamless as possible for the kids. So for that reason I stayed in Australia for six weeks longer.
We also discussed all of our airline miles we had gotten while in Australia, and not wanting them to go to waste. My mom was already planning on coming over to visit in June....So, we came up with the idea of having Mom meet me somewhere else on that side of the world. We tossed around many different places, but wanted to get the most bang for our buck. All we really cared about was relaxing, great view, and being together. So mom paid, and used miles for her part of the trip, while I used miles to pay my part of the trip, and we ended up in Koh Samui. The time in Thailand is so incredible. Knowing I was getting on a plane headed to a vacation to see my Mamma really made getting in the plane leaving Australia doable.
That was the plan all before Josh left, but you know how plans go...... Most people already know, but Josh's father unexpectedly passed away the Saturday before Josh moved back to The States on Monday. Josh got to go to The States last January for training, and while there got to spend time with everyone in his family, thank you Halliburton training. So Josh literally got off the plane, and went to his fathers funeral. A couple weeks after the funeral Josh's mother had to have knee replacement surgery. So, it was a great time for Josh to be home for six weeks. Josh's strength through all of this has never ceased to amazing me. I wish I could have been by his side for everything, but am so glad I married such an amazing man who can handle so much.
When Josh left Australia the plan was to buy a Fed Ex route, but as he looked more and more into it, something about the contract just didn't sit right with him. He started looking more and more at other options. The week after his Father's funeral he flew down to Florida, and met with five different business opportunities that he had looked into. It is amazing how God works. One was an electrical business, that Josh really knew nothing about, but something intrigued him. While talking to the electrical business he learned that they had different franchise options. So to make a long story short, he did not go with the electrical business, but went with a different part of the parent company.
He talked to quite a few owners in Florida that worked with the parent company, and something just told him that he wanted to look more into it. He loved how all the owners were willing to help, offered support, and actually meant it. The way the owners explained it was, "your success will help us, if you succeed and build a good reputation, people will talk." He ended up coming back home, driving to Waco and met with the parent company. He learned that he really trusted the company, felt like they were Christians and, God forbid, but if anything ever happened to Josh, he felt like they would help me. Honestly, when Josh called me and talked about them he could not say enough nice things.
On his tour of Florida, he fell in love with the area of Melbourne. I know, I know Melbourne? NO, not Australia, but yes it is actually named after Melbourne, Australia.
We are moving to the Melbourne area, Palm Bay, Florida to be exact. Josh will be opening a business in the next couple of months. Josh moved all of our things from Searcy while we are in Thailand. He also is painting all the inside of our rental, again, AMAZING guy. We are currently waiting on the shipment from Australia, he changed the delivery address to our new place. I am currently looking for a job and waiting for my certification to transfer. Pray those two things happen BEFORE school starts. If it doesn't, I might be starting a business also, a tutoring business, or I guess I could coach gymnastics again.....Not sure my shoulders can handle that! We are really working on listening to His plan, and walking with Him. I just hope we got the right beat.
So for those of you like me, a month ago, I didn't know where the Melbourne area or Palm Bay was, it is about an hour from Orlando, twenty minutes form Cocoa Beach, and really close to Cape Canaveral. Planning a trip yet to come down? I should be there around July 20, to see our new home. Who knows, I might actually get to go to Disney World before I am 33. We will see where HIS plan takes us. Until them.....please pray with us.
