I have really been raised to not collect things, collect only memories. So, when I see a souvenir shop it is not a temptation to go inside. I do want something small to remember our trips. We have a tradition of collecting crosses.
Now, sometimes we buy it and other times we get things to make it ourself. Honestly, our handmade crosses are some of my favorite.
The first picture summarizes the vacation crosses that hung in our Conway home, the second is a cross from our honeymoon in Denver, and the one with pieces of drift wood is from a west coast road trip in the USA. I took pictures of them before we packed up knowing I would use pictures of them somewhere in our Australian home. After each trip I hang them on our "cross wall." It is fun remeniscing the memories made with each adventure.
Left one is from Mexico and right one from Niagara Falls in Canada. The one from the falls is white in the middle because it was frozen when we saw it. We started this because of the simple question Steve would ask us every night in Honduras, "How did you see God today?"
