Our next adventure was a day exploring St Augustine. Josh and I went there on our way home from Savannah. It is the oldest town in America. So yet again, my dad was in history heaven. We started our day walking through the gates of the city.
Stopped in front of the oldest school building, and quickly headed to the "historical adventure."
Our guide was great. He kept calling all the plaques historical tweets.
After the tour we climbed into the watch tour and looked as far as we could see.
It was free day in the fort so, hey why not. It was pretty cool. It took something like 26 years to build it. The stuff it is built out of is found out by the ocean. They dig it up, form it, and then it has to air dry for nine months. I guess it is good stuff. The fort still looks awesome and it was built in the 1700s.
After all of the history fun, we sat for a while, drank coffee, and looked up facts about St Augustine on our phone.
Snapchat fun of the day.
At the end of the day we headed to the beach to watch the waves and just chill.
Until next time St Augustine.
