So, I hear all the time, "Man! you fit a lot into your visitors trips." I decided to share the itinerary I made up for Jake and Jenn. Now, while reading this make sure you remember we live in Brisbane, so a lot of the ideas are around our area.
I picked them up from the airport. Josh was in Oman for work. The main thing about the first day in Australia from The States, is simple. DO NOT SLEEP. To stay awake I chose to take them to Australia Zoo, Noosa, and Eat Street markets.
We ran to New Farm Markets for brekky, then rode the ferry home. Next, we put on our fancy clothes and went to the horse races. We ended the night at South Bank for dinner where they are the romantic kind and, rode the Farris Wheel and had a glass of bubbles while they took in the view.
We headed to "Island Time" for a day Straddie!! - North Stradbroke Island
Josh and I had to work while they were here, so they had an adventure day at Moreton Island, and we went to work.
Day 5 and 6
While we were stuck working they headed to Sydney - Possible ideas in Sydney - Opera House, CBD, Sailing Lesson, Bondi to Coogee Walk, Walk around town, Blue Mountians, Climb the Bridge, or ride the Mainly Ferry.
They flew back to Brisbane, and got to experience CBD Brisbane a bit. Shopped a little and experienced one of our favourite restaurants in CBD Maru.
I had scheduled for them to go to Byron Bay and Mount Tamborine. They chose to rest, get massages, pedicure, and chill before the next adventure.
This was the first day of summer break for me. We all flew to Hamilton Island, and experienced island life!
When on Hamilton Island, we had to get off the island and explore. We took Cruise WhitSunday's tour to White Haven Beach. I highly recommend the full day tour which includes the Hill Inlet. WOW!
Again, they took Cruise WhitSundays tour to do a reef adventure. We stayed on Hamilton Island where Josh checked emails, and we both took sailing lessons in the late afternoon.
We used every minute we could on the island. We sailed for an hour, swam in the pool, and turned our golf cart in with only five minutes left on our rental. Then we flew back to Brisbane - They did any final buying trinkets, I suggested them to go up in The Clock Tower, but Jake wanted more adventure so he climbed the bridge, last we went out for a nice dinner at our favorite place at Portside. The Italian place!
As you loose days flying to Australia because of the International Date Line, and have one really long day flying back to The States, sadly Day 13 is the day they went home on their two week adventure. - Click for Long Flight Advice
