Well I have been the Sydney many times I still have yet to save all of the highlights many people say are "must see stops" in Sydney. While in Sydney this last time I decided to do a walking tour and hit some of the highlights. I started at Martin's Place. Martin Place you might remember from Sydney Siege this is where the Lindt Café that was taken hostage is located. After Martin Place I headed to Circular Quay.

Circular Quay is a busy place where ferries and trains all come together. This is also where cruise ships dock. The Sydney Harbor Bridge is on the left and The Opera House on on the Right.  This really, is a busy place.  From circular Quay I could get really good pictures of the Sydney bridge. I walked around circular Quay to then go see the Sydney Opera House. I have been to the Sydney Opera House before when Dad and I came to Sydney. You can read about that here.

Next I walked through the Royal Botanical Gardens and meandered around the water and beautiful landscape. I won't lie I got a little distracted in the Royal Gardens and sat on a bench for a while and read a book. Next, I went to Mrs. Macquarie chair and Macquarie Point. Macquarie point is a place where you can get the iconic picture of the Sydney Opera House and Sydney bridge. After that I decided to meander through the botanical gardens a little bit more. I had a little bit of time to just sit and relax, so I took my time.

After leaving the botanical gardens I walked down the street just a little bit until I went to St. Mary's Cathedral. St. Mary's Cathedral is the oldest Cathedral in Australia. After taking pictures at the Cathedral I found Hyde Park which is directly across the street. Just like in New York City Central Park is my favorite place. The parks in Sidney have quickly become my favorite place in Sydney. I decided to sit in Hyde Park and people watch for a bit. I found a group of old men playing chess. I think they might meet up a lot. You could see in all of their actions that this was a very stressful game of chess.

After enjoying some time in Hyde Park I decided to meander through part of the shopping district and quickly went back to Martin place. Even with all my sitting, Relaxing, and people watching I did this walking tour in around two hours. I know there are still many other places to see in Sydney but I'll leave those for next time.
