When Dad came over last December, we took him to Straddie. We all fell in love with the island, click HERE to read about that trip. We knew we had to share the island with Mamma and Aunt Becky. Check out their adventure. Before I hand the blog to them, I do have to point out....AUNT BECKY is drinking coffee. Australian's always brag they have the best coffee. Here is a huge step from my Aunt, that backs the Aussies coffee. She has never drank coffee, it has always been too bitter. She always said she would drink that when she "grew" up. Well one trip over the pond, she is grown!! "If it is pouring down rain and you are scheduled to go to Straddie, go anyway! Even with the rain off and on all day, this was an amazing day. We got the opportunity to see koalas, rays, kangaroos, and whales all in their natural habitat. We also had an amazing group to go with. Everyone in our group was in or previously in education. It was fascinating to talk the education world with a global view. One of the pluses of rainy days, there was no one on the beaches. We loved putting our feet in the Pacific Ocean. We have now put our feet in the Pacific Ocean on both sides of the world. The highlight of the day was an amazing walk over the bluffs where you can see into the crystal blue water, the crashing waves, the amazing animals, and beautiful beaches. Thankfully during this part of the day, the rain was paused. We were amazed how the paths on the walk way were not slick at all. They were wonderfully safe even in the wet weather. It was an amazing day just getting to play. So glad we got to explore the island, see everything, have sister time, and not let the rain slow us down. -Whooty and MammaWish I could have gone. Looks like they had an amazing day. So glad the rain didn't dampen their spirits. -EAT
